LEADER SPOTLIGHT!

FEATURING

Hope Andrade

We invite members to join us for the April Level 5 Leadership Spotlight featuring the Hon. Hope Andrade that will be held at the Petroleum Club.

You may know the name, but if you are a SAWCC member this is your opportunity to hear directly from Hope Andrade about her climb to success in this very intimate setting.

Andrade has been a successful CEO, business leader and government official with a 30 year career in both the private sector and public service.  As an entrepreneur who created, grew and profitably sold three high growth companies, Hope brings a broad business perspective with particular expertise in healthcare, transportation, workforce and economic development.

From July 2008 to November 2012, she was Texas' longest serving Secretary of State and was the first Latina to hold the position.  As Secretary of State, she served as Ambassador for Economic Development leading numerous international ad trade companies to bring the largest foreign investment to Texas, creating hundreds of new jobs.

From 2003 to 2008, Hope served as Commissioner and briefly Chair of Texas’ Transportation Commission and was one of only two female Commissioners in the Texas Department of Transportation history. While there, she developed close working relationships with multi-national, state, and local businesses to understand their needs and eliminate transportation obstacles to business growth.

In 2007 and 2008, Hope also served as Executive Director of the MATT Foundation (Mexicans and Americans Thinking Together), a bi-national non-profit organization focused on building cultural and economic links between the U.S. and Mexico, bridging understanding, building relationships, and sparking dialogue.

She is currently serving as Chair of the San Antonio Via Metropolitan Transit Authority and on the Executive Committee of the San Antonio Economic Development Corporation. In addition, she has been the recipient of numerous personal, business, and community awards and recognition, some of which include the Texas Department of Transportation’s Roadhand Award, the San Antonio Business Journal’s Leadership Legacy Award, The San Antonio Leadership Hall of Fame Award, the Lifetime Achievement Award from the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Woman of the Year by the Houston Chapter of Women in Transportation, and Small Business Advocate of the Year from the Small Business Administration.

This is only a glimpse at the accomplishments of the Hon. Hope Andrade.  Seating is very limited, so register today to attend this special event.

NOTE: This members only event will begin promptly at 10:15 am and concludes at 11:30 am.
