January POWERhour!

Featuring
  Pam Parish
Pamela Parish became one of San Antonio's highest-ranking women bankers when she was named Broadway Bank's San Antonio regional president in 2013.

That's a long way from her first banking job as an installment-loan secretary — an entry-level position preparing loans for consumer lenders — at what was then Beaumont State Bank in 1976.

At Broadway, Parish oversees the bank's wealth management division, private banking, mortgage lending, marketing and strategic planning. She also collaborates with Chairman and CEO Jim Goudge on the direction of the bank's operations, including its retail and commercial divisions in San Antonio.

Parish joined Broadway over a decade ago as group executive vice president of its wealth management division. She was hired away from JPMorgan Chase, where she led its trust department in San Antonio.

Under Parish's leadership, the Broadway wealth management division's assets under management have more than doubled to $1.6 billon. She was at the helm during the Great Recession, when stock markets downward spiral hammered many investors portfolios.

Parish is proud that the division kept almost all its customers despite the downturn.  Parish also was tapped to lead Broadway's strategic planning council, implementing various initiatives to expand the bank.

Parish went to night school for years, first earning a bachelor's degree from Lamar University in Beaumont in 1991. Six years later, she got her master's in business from Lamar.

Her husband, Larry, is a retired federal probation and parole officer. The couple live on 10 acres just outside Boerne, where they own quarter horses. She says riding is her way of relaxing.

Pam currently serves on the board of directors for BioMedSA; Boerne/Kendall County Economic Development Corporation where she also serves as vice chair of the executive board; and The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Foundation where she also serves as the audit committee chair. In addition, she is a member of the Women’s Leadership Advisory Council for United Way of Bexar County.

Join us to hear the rest of this Pam's story, how this entry-level position turned into a life-long career.
