More about Lynn Hickey

Join us for the fourth SMART WOMEN session of this five-part series for 2016-2017 at the beautiful home of the Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas!

We are honored to have Lynn Hickey, Associate Vice President/Director of Athletics from UTSA as our provocateur that will create that spark to be the best you can be!

Now in her second decade leading the UTSA Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, Lynn has definitely shown she knows how to bring her "A" game and has inspired her athletes to do the same, as the UTSA Roadrunners have captured three conference commissioner's cups and a pair of league all-sports trophies while consistently winning both team and individual academic and athletics awards in all 17 sports sponsored by the university.

Additionally, Hickey has helped pave the path for UTSA's entrance into the Western Athletic Conference in 2010 and the Conference USA, a group of Five League and member of the Football Bowl Subdivision, in 2013, at which time the Roadrunners moved all 17 sports into C-USA.

Lynn has been credited with keeping UTSA on pace in the ever-changing conference realignment by her foresight to add three sports during her tenure, women's golf (2005); women's soccer (2006); and a the approval of a football program in December 2008.  She has also led the charge for UTSA and its hosting of 14 NCAA Championship events since her arrival to the Alamo City.

Hickey has been a member of numerous national committees and organizations while leading UTSA Athletics, including being named to the NCAA Division 1 Men's Basketball Committee, one of the most prestigious appointments in all of collegiate athletics; and the San Antonio Express-News selected her as its 2010 Sportswoman of the Year.

This abridged version of Lynn's bio proves she has achieved results by being the best she can be.  Now let her share those same best practices with you in regards to:
  • Being a good team member
