"SMART WOMEN Understand/Plan for Elder Care of their Loved Ones and Themselves"

Presented By

       Susan Franklin

Join us for this special opportunity to listen and learn from our provocateur, Susan Franklin, one of the most knowledgeable women in San Antonio on the subject of understanding and planning for elder care of a loved one, as she is the Co-Founder and Co-Owner of Franklin Park Assisted Living Retirement Communities.

Susan’s calling is to change the conversation about senior living and prove that life during the golden years is a sweet and precious story. These years are not pages to be left blank, but rather full chapters of worth, joy and growth.

Susan has a unique perspective in understanding this topic as she is also a daughter caring for an aging mother, who happens to be a resident at Franklin Park Sonterra.  Her perspective as a caregiver will inform attendees of questions to consider such as, “Does my loved one feel at home?  What is the attitude of the staff where she/he lives toward her/him?  What kinds of activities are available for her/him?”

This very personal connection allows Susan to share secrets on how to keep grounded to the realities loved ones and their families will face.  By personalizing her story, attendees walk away able to be more innovative and more persistent in their pursuit of excellence for providing care for a loved one.

In addition, she will provide her professional views detailing:

  •  Embracing the golden years of life, the process one needs to go through to live a full and rewarding rich life, and know that memories are made for everyone;
  •  Learning about the vast myriad of services available in the San Antonio community.
  • Understanding the differences between independent living, assisted living, memory care, home health, companion services, at-home services, etc.
  • Recognizing the warning signs of when the caregiver needs to take care of themselves if they are going to continue taking care of their loved one.

June 2014, Mrs. Franklin, and her husband, Aubra, were awarded the prestigious EY Entrepreneur of the Year designation for Central Texas. This annual award recognizes entrepreneurs who have a proven track record of innovation that has resulted in exceptional success in their industries.  With Susan's unprecedented credentials you will want to come hear answers and recommendations from an expert on this all important topic that will affect us all at some point in our lifetime.
