Bloomberg Business Program

The San Antonio Women's Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the University of the Incarnate Word(UIW) continues this month with the 2018 Bloomberg Business Program.  This program has completed its 6th year since it's inception began 7 years ago, founded by Dr. Yvonne Katz, Superintendent (ret.), and Dr. David Vequist, professor at UIW.

This six-part series is conducted by doctoral and professional level facilitators discussing timely topics found in the Bloomberg Businessweek magazine.

Major business topics will be pursued with the goal of focusing on Leadership and Personal/Professional development.  Business acumen, strategies and trends will be discussed using real life examples from the periodical, as well as from issues being faced by participants.  Participants are expected to attend all sessions; read Bloomberg Weekly magazine articles, in addition to any other homework assignments, prior to each session; and, be prepared to discuss during the session.

Networking with others and participating in a safe environment, sharing workplace situations and professional dreams are additional benefits of the program.  Participants will also receive first-hand knowledge from expert speakers from the San Antonio business community.  Expert speakers invited to the 2018 sessions are as follows:

  • Mary Beth Fisk, CEO/Executive Director - The Ecumenical Center
  • Dr. Yvonne Katz, Chair - Alamo Colleges District Board of Trustees
  • Dr. Jeannie Scott, Associate Dean - UIW School of Business
  • Kiran Bains, Chief Equity Officer - City of San Antonio Office of Diversity and Inclusion
  • Mona Helmy, CEO - Helmy Plastics Company
  • Asia Ciaravino, CEO - SA Youth
  • Hon. Catherine Stone, Chief Justice (ret.)/Attorney - 4th Court of Appeals
  • Casey Annuncio, Partner - Munoz & Company

The six sessions will be held  from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.  Cost for the entire series is $175 and includes a weekly subscription to the Bloomberg Businessweek magazine.  If you are a corporate member and would like to attend this series please contact your company representative or the SAWCC office for more information.
