"SMART WOMEN Are in Control of Their Emotions & Roll With the Punches"

Join us for the 2019-2020 SMART Women Series that will kick off with a discussion about emotional health, which can be defined as being able to get up when life knocks you down. 

Our provocateur, Dr. Keely Petty, Certified Temperament Counselor and Community Health Worker, has been a voice of hope and healing in our community for a number of years.  She will share her expertise opinions as to why emotional health is an important part of overall health.

As with all aspects of our health, emotional health also takes work. Defining and living your emotional health can lead to positive change and personal growth, a healthy sense of self-confidence, and a sense of hope.   Dr. Petty will share insight on the following concepts, and help you define what emotional wellness means to you:

• Why people who are emotionally healthy are in control of their thoughts, feelings and behaviors;
  
• Why being emotionally healthy does not mean you are happy all of the time, but means you are aware of your emotions;
•  In addition, how being aware enables you to cope with life's challenges and use those emotions effectively in any given situation.
  

With an increase in challenges within our daily lives, now is the perfect time to turn a goal of being emotionally healthy into a lifestyle change that promotes a state of wellbeing by using the knowledge gained from this session.
